F.... French TV-Show
Oh no,that's not fair!Now we heard that a french TV Show called "Hors Stade" showed a very negative report about Anna!Why?Anna should have refused to give them an Interview!It sounds a little bit strange,doesn't it?So what happened???
Well,as far as we know they said that Anna isn't worth the huge attention she gets,she has not much talent and also doesn't want to play for her native country in the Fed Cup!
Well,hard
stuff and there was nothing positive they said about
Anna!So why all this???Just because she didn't you
an interview???Is this really the reason???It seems
so!
Anna already proved that she has great talent on the
court although she hasn't won a Singles Title yet
but this will come!She is only 19 years old and
since many many years constantly playing in the
top10, since October 2000 always ranked in the
Top10,still today although she couldn't play for a
month already due to an injury!So why all these
silly talks about Anna not to be a gifted athlete??
She cannot give anyone an interview,if she would try
to do it she wouldn't have time to do anything else
and YOU KNOW this!
As a result we just have to state that these french people don't report objectively,the judge about Anna because they didn't get from her what they wanted to get!That's all!
Let's forget it and take a look forward to Amelia Island - just about 1 week left!Hopefully Anna will play!

Will she soon be back on the court?
Does anyone exactly know if Anna will play in Amelia Island or not??When YOU know something please tell us because there are no actual news about the state of her injury!
All we know is that Anna confirmed in late February that she is planning to start in Amelia Island.The so called Bausch & Lomb Championships start on April,9th and we can just hope that Anna will be able to play again!
Her
Singles Ranking didn't change this monday because the tournament in
Miami,the Ericsson Open, isn't already finished.But it might be that Anna
falls out of the Top 10 for the first time since October 2000 after this
week because last year she reached the 4th round in Miami and these points
are missing this year.
So it's time for Anna to come back on the court,otherwise her solid place
in the Top Ten will be taken by another player.
By the way: Anna is on the title of another Magazine - OK MAGAZINE features some pictures of lovely Anna in its current issue, we are looking forward to show you all of them soon.

Anna goes Lycos
A little bit distracting news a few days ago where we linked Anna with commercials which should have been made for the NCAA Basketball Tournament!
Well,now we know that Anna signed a new contract with Internet Company Lycos (they also voted her "most search athlete in the Internet" back in June/July 2000 (remember Wimbledon))!Now it is reported that she will earn $1 Mio. according to a report which was shown yesterday evening on "E.T." in the United States.Furthermore in this report about the new contract they showed Anna in sexy clothes like below!

New Sponsor for Anna
Anna will be paid 10$ million US to do a promotion for Terra-Lycos during the NCAA basketball championships that have just started in the USA.
Unfortunately there are no oncourt news about Anna because she is still recovering from her stress fracture in her left foot but there are financial news as Terra-Lycos announced it had concluded a partnership with Anna to do an advertising campaign during the NCAA Basketball tournament.
Hopefully Anna will be able to play the tournanemt in Amelia Island starting on April, 9 2001!

NO ERICSSON OPEN 2001 FOR ANNA
Okay,we must admit that this information wasn't really unexpected.We know, finally from the explicit explanation of a "stress fracture" (see Reports & Articles Section), that a stress fracture takes up to 8 eight weeks until a player is able to compete again in professional tennis!Anna suffered this injury in the middle of February,so "just" 4 weeks are gone so far!It is a pity because Anna probably won't be able to keep her Top 10 Ranking any longer!She lost points because she missed Acapulco (last year played in Scottsdale and reached the semifinal) and Indian Wells!Now she will also loose her points from 2000 at the Ericsson Open.This is a very depressing situation.
Especially the Ericsson Open,right in front of Annas Home in Miami.In 1998 she reached her first WTA Tour final,do you remember?Of course you do,we all do!Unfortunately Anna won't be able to play this tournament this year,so let's hope for the Bausch & Lomb Championships in Amelia Island, which starts on April,9th 2001!Hopefully Anna will be back then!

What is a stress fracture???
Anna suffers her second stress fracture as all of you know but do you know exactly what it is?For those of you who speak german or can at least understand a little bit you can read a very explicit explanation of a "stress fracture"!

other news it might be that Anna is really engaged
right now!Messages very similar to those one year
ago were posted on websites like freenet.de and
peoplenews.com!It is totally unclear if these
rumours are right or wrong because leading
newspapers and TV stations didn't published anything
like that! It is a pity that Annas official website
doesn't exist anymore, perhaps she would comment on
these stories as she did in April 2000 when she
denied any marriage plans with Pavel Bure!This time
a very expensive brilliant ring should have been
involved but it was not Pavel again, this time it
seems that Sergei Fedorov did it.
But nothing is really confirmed or anything!

frustrating times
Hard times for an Annafan. Still there are no news we know about the status of her injury, if she will be able to play the Ericsson Open starting in 11 days...! We don't kno any news and this is very depressing!

This is a very disappointing fact but it seems to be the sad truth! Anna's official website, www.kournikova.com, which everyone of YOU know for sure,has been shut down!
No more ANNAS JOURNAL,no more ASK ME????
It seems that nowadays the competition in the Internet business has become so strong and "cruel" that even such well-known websites like kournikova.com have to shut down due to various reasons!
All we can do is continue our coverage about Anna and for sure if our webspace-providers don't kill US,we will inform you as long as Anna plays tennis.
This is what we want,this is what we enjoy! We don't want to get paid for what we do because we do it for Anna!That's all in this!

Anna in sunny Acapulco
Anna arrived in Acapulco today to shoot a new TV Commercial.You can see on the pics that she wears something to prevent her left foot to get more injured!
Hopefully she comes back in Key Biscayne,she definitely won't be able to compete in Indian Wells starting next week.
