Julio Iglesias reportedly made the following comment:
"It could be that in the near future I'll have some
Russian grandchildren." Well, of course the
british Yellow Press and the
german BILD are thankful for those kind of
comments...
PERSONAL COMMENT: BULLSHIT - Anna wants to continue her career as a tennisplayer (look at her recent comments regarding World Team Tennis in July 2003) and doesn't want to become a mother yet. That's what I think!

Well, I don't think this is good news - Harold Solomon and Anna have ended their coaching relationship after a little bit more than 1 year! Solomon said that he might coach a player again but "only the right player"! This can mean nothing else than: ANNA WASN'T THE "RIGHT" PLAYER TO GET TO THE TOP AGAIN :-(((((( report
Anna wants to play WTT: In a teleconference
on monday (June 23) Anna said that she wants to play
at the World Team Tennis (July 7-27) for the Kansas
City Explorers because she thinks that it's a good
"opportunity to get back into playing tournaments".
Concerning her back problems she said that it's
"something
that's structurally wrong with my back from all the
playing"............
Nevertheless, if she plays or not - she committed to
a trip to Kansas to meet fans and sign autographs.

WRONG BECAUSE OF ALL THE PLAYING!

No news at the moment about the injury status of Anna - what do YOU think??? Will Anna be ready to come back at the US Open-preparation tournaments in Stanford, San Diego etc.??? If you know any news please let me know!

NO WIMBLEDON / ITF-pics uploaded
I already read it yesterday in the german BILD newspaper and it is simply deeply frustrating - but on the other hand it was quite certain that she wouldn't be playing this year in Wimbledon! Who knows when she will be back?? WILL SHE COME BACK AT ALL???

In her latest Journal entry Anna talks about the Birmingham-Withdrawal and that she's been advised NOT to play neither this nor the upcoming week in Eastbourne .-(( Full Report!
Most frustrating: "I'll have to wait and see what the program will be after that." This can mean SO MUCH :-(((
I just hope that she will be FULLY HEALTHY again...one day...

Anna not in Eastbourne as well :-(( / Ranking News / new Poll / Anna's Dad speaks about wedding rumours / Anna's 2004 Calendar
Anna also can't play in Eastbourne (June 16-22, 2003)! Anna said herself 2 days ago (in England): "I'm very disappointed, actually devastated not to be able to play in Birmingham...Grass is my favourite surface and I love playing in England, so having to pull out because of my back is the last thing I wanted." (ALL comments by Anna)! Anna arrived in England last thursday (June 5), practised in Roehampton and came to Birmingham on Sunday (June 8). She has been advised not to play neither this nor next week :-( Anna about this latest injury setback: "It's the same problem I've had since after the Australian Open and it gives me referred pain in other areas, but it all comes from my back."
According to this article TEARS WERE RUNNING DOWN HER CHEEKS after a 45-minute practise session in Birmingham :-(((
Her status concerning Wimbledon remains unknown...
PERSONAL COMMENT: I don't ask the question anymore if this is "fair" - it is simply unbelievable and the every day I fear that she might choose to retire because she doesn't see a chance anymore to come back FULLY HEALTHY...

Anna withdrew due to injury
Anna has withdrawn from the DFS Classic in Birmingham (read more)! Obviously her injury hasn't fully healed yet!
PERSONAL COMMENT: What's left to say??? Regarding this "injury season" this latest Withdrawal isn't a surprise anymore :-((( Hopefully she can play in Eastbourne and Wimbledon!
