newsoftheworld.co.uk published poll results - ACE magazine voted BARBARA SCHETT as "sexiest women on the tour",Anna behind her on 2nd place. Well,what do you think of that?! But according to a phone call british fans voted Anna with overwhelmingly 95% the "sexiest women on the tour". In fact those polls mean nothing and are worthless regarding Annas recovery. And also Barbara Schett admitted:"If I'd be a man,I'd fancy Anna" so the Austrian player was also surprised. Well, these are no really important news for me because I would be more happy to hear that Annas injury is completely healed and she is ready for competition again.

Anna still in Wimbledon or back in germany for rehabilitation???
Who can clearly answer this question???I can't!There are reports (like in peoplenews.com) which indicates that Anna still might be in Wimbledon to watch some matches. Some stories even come up with a rising "rivalry" between Anna and the Williams-Sisters because of Annas Statement in the recent UK GQ magazine where Anna said she wants to look feminin and not like them. But there also reports like in the german BILD newspaper which tell that Anna is back in Bad Wiessee to get further treatments and rehabilitation because she re-injured herself with her intense training (she wanted to play Wimbledon and wanted too much too early).
Well,I don't know where she is at the moment, both stories might be true at some points but who knows? Perhaps we see Anna in the stands during some matches in Wimbledon, perhaps we don't! For all of you who want to see Anna in Heidelberg (Germany) during her recovery (I suppose May 01) => look here!

ANNA WITHDREW FROM WIMBLEDON...
Anna had to withdraw from Wimbledon yesterday just ahead of the Announcements of the 32 seeded players (first time that 32 players are seeded at a Grand Slam Tournament)!
It is no real surprise for me but this means that Anna will miss half the Grand Slams of one season for the first time (I expect her to play the US Open but...)!What a sad record. This will be the 2nd time as well that Anna won't be able to play the most pretigious and important Grand Slam at all after she was forced to pull out in 1998 after suffering a thumb injury in Eastbourne.
I cannot really express how sad I am and I am sure Anna is at least as sad as I am but there is just no light at the end of this tunnel...! First this announcement that she would come back at this Exhibtion on June 9, then the withdrawal and a few days later she pulled out of Eastbourne and now she also skipped Wimbledon because her injury simply isn't healed completely.
The next possible event for Anna to finally come back is the Bank of the West Classic - Tournament in Stanford which starts on July 23! Another 4 weeks at minimum wihout Anna and who knows if she will be back there...
Again hope and pray for a final recovery!

ACE,Haas,Wimbledon,general News
There a couple of news today:First,there was a "Who is the most beautiful player?"-poll by the british ACE magazine which also includes the opinions of coaches.Suprise,surprise: Anna ISN'T the number 1, she ist just Nr.2 behind...Barbara Schett from Austria. Well, are such polls really important?? I don't think so but at least a little bit interesting.
Second news come from an interview some time ago:German magazine BUNTE interviewed Tommy Haas and also asked him a few questions about Anna and the most remarkable answer from him is this one:"Anna is a nice and normal girl when she is alone. But when she is in public she acts like a princess"! Well,what is your opinion about it?? For sure he knows Anna better than me because both were 3 1/2 years at the Bollettieri Camp in Florida but who knows if he tells the truth or not.
Third news: All of you can be happy because within the next few days/weeks I will upload lots of new pics to the Tour Gallery. Uploads will be from the years 96-99! In the near future A L L Images on this website (Photos,Tour Gallery,Vidcaps,...) will be displayed on a new and better server so it will be much more comfortable to view and download them. The aim is to move the whole Site ANNA4EVER.DE to a better server.
Finally my prediction for Wimbledon: I think that Anna will try everything to perform there because she loves this tournament and misses the competition. But due to her injury I think the probability that Anna really comes back in Wimbledon is not more than 20%.

Eastbourne goodbye
News would probably be bad news - why do some people have right including me???Once again Anna withdrew from a tournament, this time Eastbourne which was the last preparation tournament for Wimbledon.But: If Anna is not 100% healthy it won't bring her anything to come back because she might get injured again when she comes back too early. Personally I think that she will try everything possble on earth to play in Wimbledon.
This
is what Anna said towards her Eastbourne-withdrawal:
"I always enjoy playing at Eastbourne so I am
really sorry that my foot has not healed quickly
enough to allow me to play there again this year."
We can just continue to hope, when does this martyrium finally ends???

Anna wrote a book???
According to some postings on the annak.org-messageboard Anna should have written a book for children called "Make you point".The Prize: $20!Well,I don't know if this is true but it is possible!In fact it isn't very important for me. The only thin which is important for me is the question:WHEN WILL ANNA COME BACK??? She withdrew from an exhibition match today and also from the Birmingham Tournament starting on monday.
It is still committed that Anna plays Eastbourne but to be honest - I doubt that Anna plays Wimbledon this year.Of course I hope so but yesterday on ESPN and in the Eurosport Sportscentre there was an report that Anna could be forced to RETIRE...!Well, I don't want to think about that because - anna4ever without Anna playing tennnis??? No,I don't think that her stress fracture is so serious that it could ce career-threatening.
Once again we can just hope and pray!

Oh no,another withdrawal
Well,I said it yesterday - Anna had to postpone her comeback once again by withdrawing from the exhibition event in Surbiton tomorrow.Sad news but unfortunately we are all already used to this type of news - one withdrawal follows the other and the question stays the same - WHEN WILL ANNA BE ABLE TO COME BACK???

Match!It is frustrating and appropriate words don't come to my mind.I can just keep on hoping like all of you out there that Anna will be able to play Wimbledon, perhaps even Eastbourne. But one thing is for sure - From now on I only really believe that Anna really gives her comeback when I can see her standing on the court and playing.All these Comeback-news in the past months, "confirmed"-News,all these turned out to be......not the truth.I know this is very very depressing right now, especially on Annas 20th Birthday...

Oh yes!Anna, we were waiting for this news sooooooooooooooooo long!Read this text below which is the proof that ANNA FINALLY GIVES HER COMEBACK - in 5 days near London at an Exhibition tournament. Afterwards Anna will be training for sure to get ready for her "real" comeback to the WTA Tour - Eastbourne starting at June 18!

News from Anna: She is already in London according to a post in the annak.org - messageboard!Well, I knew that Anna would be there personally to promote her first exercise video - "Basic Elements".This video, based on Annas Workout methods, will be available from June 4th. So watch out and report me if you see Anna in London. Another Omega-Promotion is also possible!
Another possibility for her arrival in London so early also might be that she thinks about starting her comeback already in Birmingham (starting on June 11)!Well, to be honest: I don't think that Anna will participate in this tournament, I think that she will give her comeback after 4 months out of action in Eastbourne (starting on June 18)! Of course, if she will be playing already in Birmingham, I would be more than happy.
