AK plays Smash Hits 06 / new
pics
Anna competes at the 2006 WTT Smash Hits event -
this event will take place at the
Bren Center on University of California
Irvine Campus on September 14th, 2006 (start: 7 pm local).
Anna will be joined by Andy Roddick, Pete Sampras, Sir Elton John and Billie
Jean King - just like in previous years. Proceeds from this event will
benefit the Elton John AIDS
Foundation and the AIDS Services Foundation Orange County.
Anna is expected to play Women's and Mixed Doubles.
Tickets will go on sale on July 31st at Ticketmaster ticket centers (call
714/740-2000) and at the Bren Center Box Office (call 949/824-5000).
Special VIP ticket packages with access to the live auction (attended by all
players, Anna as well) are available through the AIDS Services Foundation for
$250 (call Michelle Burton at 949.809.5720 | email her).

out in Miami - she's wearing a Bruce Springsteen-shirt and a little kid is
beside her (who's that?). She seems quite happy and smiles a lot which is

WTT-match on TTC / Bogomolov Jr. mentions Anna...
Anna wrote another Journal Entry ("World
Team Tennis 2006 - Wrapup" from July 25th) after her 5th and last
WTT-appearance this year. Most interesting quote: "I am so sad it is over"!
Furthermore, she states that she had a lot of fun on and off the court with
her all her team mates (I think with Elena and Mark especially).

PERSONAL COMMENT: Anna is much more thinner these days - but personally, I don't think anymore that she has an eating disorder. I believe in what she said (ELLE column) and that she's so thin because she's not playing and training on a professional level anymore.

Finally a win...
IFinally, Anna won a Mixed Doubles match in WTT this
year - she and Mark Knowles defeated Andrea Vanc/Alex Vlaski (Springfield
Lasers) 5-3! But in Women's Doubles, Anna and her partner Elena Likhovtseva
lost again - this time vs Victoria Azarenka/Andrea Vanc 3-5! See

PERSONAL COMMENT: The bottom line is that this is Anna's worst-ever WTT results. I haven't seen her playing tennis these days, perhaps she was playing well but the other players simply were better. I wait to see Tennis Channel's coverage - hopefully quite soon...

It's frustrating but true - Anna played her WTT
Doubles matches 7 and 8 (Women's Doubles with Elena Likhovtseva / Mixed
Doubles with Mark Knowles) for the Sacramento Capitals this year and,
well, she lost them both again :-((( The

PERSONAL COMMENT: This is Anna's worst-ever WTT performance so far - that's for sure. Hopefully she'll win at least her final 2 WTT Doubles matches this year. That's really quite a bit unbelievable for me...

report about Anna's recent visit with her Sacramento Capitals to campus when
they played vs. Boston Lobsters at their home ice hockey venue, the Bright
Arena.

Since a few years Anna says
that she isn't officially retired yet and that she wants to keep that option

with an investigation if Anna has an eating disorder or not - they picked 42
pictures from September 2000 till nowadays and, well, their conclusion: She
has lost bulk because she isn't training so intensely anymore.

Interview available Anna gave to the british OK! Magazine!!!! I suppose this
was held when Anna was in London for the Ariel-tennis-event back on May 22nd,
2006!
What's the Interview about?
Anna says that she's "definitely very happy at the moment", she hopes to
start a family one day and states that it was great to be involved with the
Ariel campaign.

Anna's ELLE column "Hot to trot" back in the beginning of 2006??? On November
17, 2005, Anna made a visit to the Kendall Dance Studios (research on
ballroom dancing for her ELLE-article) and Mark Reed taught her dancing
lessions for 2 hours (basics of salsa, tango and swing dancing).

yesterday for the Sacramento Capitals (vs Boston Lobsters) and once again she
couldn't win :-(( She teamed up with Mark Knowles and Mixed Doubles and

WTT-defeat in opener
Sad start into the WTT 2006 Pro League season - Anna
and the Sacramento Capitals lost vs Delaware Smash 13-25 - all 5
competition-matches were finished after 2 hours of play. ANNA EVEN STARTED IN
SINGLES but was substituted Bethany Mattek. Nevertheless, it was Anna's first
ever Singles-action in WTT.
Unfortunately it was her worst WTT-start ever - she, and the other Sacramento Capitals-players as well, lost every match she played. Here the results:
WS: Anna/Mattek vs Angela Haynes 2-5
XD: Anna/Warburg vs Haynes/Davis 4-5
WD: Anna/Mattek vs Haynes/de Swardt 4-5
