Capitals into semis
The Sacramento Capitals are the Champions in the WTT Western Division - this means that the Capitals advance to the WTT Playoffs, to be held Sept. 16 and 17 at the Allstate Tennis Stadium in Citrus Heights (California). In the semis, the Capitals will face the Newport Beach Breakers. The WTT Eastern Conference Champion, the New York Buzz, will face the Boston Lobsters. Read more

infos on the final WTT event for Anna in 2005 (with
Sacramento Capitals vs Hartford FoxForce on July
13): The Tennis Channel's program lasted three hours
(Awesome!) and Anna had a long travel from Houston
to Avon, there were 2 rain delays, an autograph
session when the WTT matches were finished (only "16
and under" which was controlled by security staff)
and much more.

new Journal / Sacramento-WTT-video / great Thread / Astrology
A new Journal entry is available at Anna's Official Website. The whole Journal entry deals with her experiences from this year's WTT season. Anna says that she was very happy to play with her "former teammates on the tour" (Mark Knowles and Likhovtseva who was like an "older sister" for Anna on the tour). She also mentions that it was great to play against Steffi Graf again and in the end she states that she's "looking forward to playing again [WTT] next year."
PERSONAL COMMENT: Another "Official Journal entry", another time no clear statement regarding the retired?/comeback?-topic has been given. Perhaps Anna still thinks about a possible comeback to the Pro Tour but basically I think she just doesn't want to officially announce her retirement yet.

Tennisreporters-guys vs Anna (WTT) / new pics
Tennisreporters.net (Matthew Cronin wrote this article) has no polite words for Anna and her WTT-performance this year - that makes me sad but I didn't expect anything else to be honest. Okay, Anna suffered a 0-5 defeat in Doubles on Sunday (July 10th) vs Gullickson/Tatarkova (Philadelphia Freedoms) but overall Anna and her team, Sacramento Capitals, beat the Freedoms on that day! That's sad - Anna lost her last WTT event in 2005 :-( The Hartford FoxForce defeated the Sacramento Capitals 24-18! Anna didn't play Singles in her last WTT 2005 event (who did expect this?), she played Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles once again (full results | report & Picture Gallery) - see the score:

Anna also won her 3rd WTT event in 2005 together with the Sacramento Capitals - 21:18 the score against the Houston Wranglers (location: Westside Tennis Club at Houston). The legendary Steffi Graf, who retired from the Pro Tour in August 1999, played her one and only Team Tennis event yesterday evening.

Anna's 1st WTT event in 2005
Anna and Andy Roddick have agreed so far to participate in this years 2005 WTT Smash Hits event, to be held November 7, in the "sweetest place on earth," and the chocolate capital of the world, Hershey, Pennsylvania. WTT Smash Hits event founders, Sir Elton John and Billie Jean King, will once again host the 2005 Smash Hits to be played at the GIANT Center, home of the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears, and proceeds will benefit agencies to defeat the AIDS disease.
