Anna vs Pratt tonight
This win in Doubles was very very good and after so many many months of injury Anna got a lot of self-confidence out of this win. 6-1,6-1 is a very impressive result and for sure it will help Anna in her Singles match later today (9 p.m. on Stadium court)! Her opponent is Nicole Pratt - look at their previous match results:

Easy Doubles win
Fantastic Anna! After only 54 minutes the 1st round doubles win was perfect - Anna and Martina easily defeated South Africa's Liezel Huber and Laura Montalvo of Argentina 6:1,6:1! What a return to competitive tennis for sweet Anna!
"Even though it was our first match in nine months or something, we were running in all the right directions which I was surprised with me, because I haven't played in so long. I'm very happy about that," Anna said afterwards.
When asked how she felt about her game Anna responded: "I was really surprised I didn't make too many mistakes. I actually felt better than I thought I would be playing. It was not a bad feeling."
Wonderful news and tonight Anna will play her first singles match after her long injury - her opponent is Nicole Pratt,whom she beat all the previous 3 times! The match will start at 7 p.m. local time in Carlsbad, San Diego. Go Anna, you are the best!

ANNA&MARTINA back again
Isn't it unbelievable??? ANNA KOURNIKOVA and MARTINA HINGIS are playing doubles again!!! Both are reported to have trained together in the past weeks but I really didn't expect them to play doubles together. If Anna wouldn't be playing doubles at all, I would fully understand it but it really seems that her foot is 100% healed so she can also play doubles. The "Spice Girls" are so successful, they won their first tournament after their first reunion (Filderstadt 2000) and I wouldn't be surprised if they would repeat it. First opponents today evening (7 P.M. local in San Diego): Huber/Montalvo! This is so great news that really words can't describe how happy I am.I love this doubles team, they play such a beautiful tennis together and are soooo successful. Hingis and Kournikova - to me THE one and only doubles team! For sure, Anna was also successful with other partners for example Julie Halard-Decugis (Gold Coast 00), Barbara Schett (Sydney 01), Natasha Zvereva (Hamburg 00) etc. but together with Hingis Anna is almost unbeatable...! Good luck Anna and I wish I could be in San Diego to see you play. I hope you come to Filderstadt and Leipzig!!!

THANX God and Anna - she comes back
Oh god,thanx!The draw is release (look HERE) and Anna has a bye in the first round - then she will probably play against Nicole Pratt. Last time both met each other was last year at the Advanta Championships in Philadelphia on November 9,2000.Anna won 6-2,6-0! This news is sooooo good, finally after almost half a year (!!) of injury Anna will come back, reports vary whether she plays doubles or not but I personally doubt this! There was a press release of her management company where Anna said this lovely sentence:"I LOVE PLAYING TENNIS"! Oh anna,after months of rumors, sad injury-news and tournament-withdrawals the time has come and I am more than happy! Let us all celebrate when Anna plays her first competitive match since february 9,2001! I think that it will be either on Wednesday or Thursday!

Draw-focus tomorrow...
Chances are better than ever that Anna will be able to give her comeback - her father said that she is already training and...don't you miss something??? NO WITHDRAWAL from San Diego at it is already Thursday!!! I think we can start getting a little bit enthusiastic but the biggest hurdle will be the draw release tomorrow - if Anna appears there, then let's all fly to San Diego immediately to celebrate Annas Comeback (ok, a little bit exaggerated possibly)! But read these statements of Roberta Tsang, a spokesperson for the Acura Classic: "As far as I know Anna is entered (in the Draw) and coming to our tournament"!

MARRIAGE Rumours - advantage
Do you know something??? The only thing what is positive after all these RUMOURS about a marriage of Sergej and Anna is - her father said that she is training again!!!! AND: She hasn't withdraw from the Acura Classic yet. The main draw will be released on Friday and chances are better than in all previous weeks that Anna could give her comeback in San Diego. From the "week-to-week"-Decision it is now obviously a "day-to-day"-Decision and perhaps she can already play in San Diego,if not than more likely in Los Angeles. Chances for a soon comeback are better than ever!

BILD today and TATTOO-News
Today german "SUN"-equivalent BILD publishes, as expected this:"SECRET MARRIAGE, SEXY ANNA TAKEN" - Well, the whole report features the same info as SUN yesterday plus TATTOO-news (well, if this is true?) - Anna should have a "Sergej"-Tattoo on her "lower back" ("Steissbein" in german, don't know the appropriate word in english)! Hmmm, there is also on pic where you can see Sergejs "ANNA"-Tattoo on his left shoulder and Anna is also on this picture...! Well, I currently think that both will marry one day, but who knows when this will be, perhaps I am also wrong. BUT: Look at Annas wrist on some Hongkong01-Pics (Tour Gallery) - you can see "SERGEJ" standing there - why should both do this if they aren't in love??? This makes me a little bit sad because I also love Anna but anyhow, Anna seems to be happy at least with him!

Perhaps...no...FOR SURE it was wrong to write this stuff a few hours ago here - but when I first saw this SUN Cover...! Well, Anna's Dad now stated that he is tired of all these marriage talks, last year Bure, this year Fedorov etc.! Now everything is good again - I am calmer and just disappointed of myself that I really believed that the SUN told the truth - I HATE these british tabloids!!! It is interesting how the media here in germany featured this marriage-rumour - first RTL at "punkt 12" where they stated that Anna married him, than I saw a small report at "taff" on PRO7 where they also said that Anna did the step! But just a few minutes later surprisingly at "Leute heute" on ZDF already the info that Sergej, Anna's Dad, denied everything, they said that Anna DID NOT do the step. Wow,very actual!!! At 18h30 (CET) at RTL-Exclusiv they also mentioned that her father denied everything and this was also the closing sentence at DSF Newscenter, 19h40 CET! I expect CNN "World Sport" to broadcast a report on this new wedding rumour tonight at 23h30 CET, for sure they will show something - think back on Tuesday 29 Feb 2000...:The big "engagement rumour"-day.
Throughout the day I thought on one interview - last year with Frank Deford for the Sports Illustrated 6/00-Issue - here the specific part where he asks her about getting YOUNG MARRIED . . . after reading it again - how could I believe this SUN-Stuff??

Ahm, this news was a shock for me.Look on www.thesun.co.uk, they came up with this "world exclusive" news covering all the frontpage today - ANNA AND SERGEJ ARE MARRIED - quotes from Sergejs mom, a pal of him etc.! It will sound strange and ridiculous but I always had deep feelings for Anna and now this... I doubt that I will be able to continue updating this website. It IS "just" a british tabloid and yeah, they often tell SHIT just to sell their stuff but this "rumour" will turn out to be true, I feel it. All latest articles, pictures of Anna, all over the years - he was there! Well, at least Anna will be happy now and well, I must go back to work now but for all german readers I will have perhaps closing words later today...! No one understands how this event affects me! by the way -

It's getting better
News, News, News - read the article "Kournikova won't return until fully fit" - Anna IS already back on the practise courts and STILL committed to play in San Diego as well as in Los Angeles! But: No special news how much Anna is able to train again already and also specific stress fracture-info from a doctor - in the worst case this injury might sideline Anna for... 1 YEAR!!!!! This would mean that we won't see her again playing in 2001. Well, let's pray that this doesn't become reality!

Withdrawal or not?? - What is going on? / ANNA4EVER-News
Right now the situation is very very strange - this is what obviously happened: 2 days ago the organisators of the Acura Classic in San Diego sent out a release announcing who participates and so on - they didn't mention Anna so...everybody would mention her if there is the smallest chance that she plays the event. The conclusion was obvious - Anna doesn't play in San Diego either! Underlining this conclusion is a representative from the estyle.com-Event in Los Angeles (starting on August 6) who said: "We are hopeful (Kournikova does play) but it doesn’t look good at the moment"! Well, to be ironic: What great news!!!!
But then today the tournament manager of the Acura Classic, Adrienne McKay, denied that Anna has already cancels the event in San Diego: "Anna has not withdrawn from our event. At this time we have no indication that she will be pulling out" - Well, that is great to hear but hey, to be honest: The Stanford-Withdrawal came about one week before the tournament started, so let's just wait until next monday, tuesday, perhaps wednesday! If Anna hasn't withdrawn by thursday-friday next week, then I think we can be happy and really think of a comeback in San Diego!
PS: The manager said that Anna will be in the next press release for the Acura Classic and he didn't know what release was meant where Anna obviously didn't appear...

After glancing at the GQ-Title (at some of the July 01-Issues) in the UK Anna is on the cover of another magazine - FHM, Australia September 2001-Issue, below you can see a thumbnail of the cover but you can already read the Interview inside the magazine. Well, actually I hope that this is the Interview inside this magazine because hey, this is supposed to be the September-Issue and we haven't got at least August!!! Anyway - the most remarkable statement of Anna in my opinion in this interview is that she is building a WALL around her home in Miami. Very good Anna, a little bit more early and perhaps these topless shots wouldn't have been shot...

Another withdrawal
I don't want to talk much because I am so frustrated and depressed that I really don't find the appropriate words - Anna withdrew from Stanford - no big surprise at all after these sad months! There is NO statement from Anna so far what really frustrates me even more - well,what else to say? Perhaps Anna won't even play the US OPEN...who knows.And if so, rumours already came out that she might not return at all this year -if that happens...I don't know.I need you Anna!

According to this article published on annak.org a few days ago, the Toronto Tournament Director doubts that Anna will participate in the Tournament which will begin in the second week of August.Read more!
Well,if this happens and Anna really doesn't play Stanford,San Diego and the Tier I - Event in Toronto, then probably she will also miss the final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open!
According to Anna's official website she will come back in Stanford but hey, this new official website isn't the best one to be honest.

Anna JET-SKIING in Miami???
Strange news: Today I've read that according to an SUN article Anna should be in Miami and JET-SKIING?!?!?!?! Well, the article was published in the british tabloid SUN yesterday under the headline "Why Anna missed Wimbledon" and they also featured a picture of her on that JET-SKI in an orange bikini...! Well, I've only read that this should have been in the SUN yesterday - Immediately I searched the whole website (thesun.co.uk) but didn't find anything...!
Is this true?Anna cancels her appearance in the World Team Tennis due to her foot injury but she is able to go jet-skiing??? I don't know how much foot-forcing jet-skiing really is because I haven't done it so far but I think that it won't be able with an injured foot...!
On the other hand this could also indicate that Anna has nearly fully recovered which would be the best news since months...! Hopefully this is the case and Anna is really close to compete again on the WTA Tour.

Some news from the magazine market: The actual issue of MAXIM (US) mentions Anna in some aspect, positively!
There are also news about the season-ending event in Munich - the best 16 OF THE YEAR should enter this event but organizers reportedly plan to give a WILDCARD to one player instead of choosing the 16th ranked! Well, Anna is below the top 40 THIS year (not in the actual 52-week-round WTA World Ranking System) and due to her ongoing injury it would be very very hard for her to get into the top20 in the remaining months!But nothing is impossible...

Uncomfortable silence
Does anybody know where Anna is???Is she still in Bad Wiessee in germany for rehabilitation or is she already back in Florida to prepare her comeback?Will she be able to play in the World Team Tennis and in Stanford (from July,23)???
