Sun Times-Interview: Super Bowl?
The second part (Jan 30th) and
third part (today) of the Sun Times' Phone Interview with Anna have been
released! Anna said that she's going to watch the Super Bowl at home with her
friends ("It's probably just going to be four people or something, and that's
all. And all girls.").
In the 4th part of the Interview the topic will be "What's up with Anna and
Enrique?" -

Phone-Interview for Feb
12th-event / 20 Questions: Playboy, tennis, life
Anna was scheduled to make a phone interview with the Chicago Sun-Times on
Friday, January 26th, at 1:15pm but she called them several minutes earlier!
We don't hear tennis-related news - she just says that she's been to Chicago
several times before but she's "never been to Siberia actually". She states
that she hasn't got much time to visit Chicago because she's "leaving the
next morning (February 13th) to go to Michigan for another event."

Northwest Herald) asked Anna 20 questions - if she'd pose for the Playboy (reportedly
there's been an offer back in autumn 2001), what she thinks about McEnroe and
Sharapova, how good her tennis skills are these days and much more
interesting topics!

Buenos Aires 00-video
It's a long time ago since Anna played a match vs the legendary Gabriela
Sabatini in Buenos Aires on February 19th, 2000!

Anna did visit Elementary school / 3 new HQ's
Anna visited the North Palm Beach Elementary School to honor principal Bill
Thompson the national "got breakfast?" award.
Anna presented the award to recognize his work in championing the Classroom
Breakfast model for serving breakfast and improving the health of his
students.
Anna also ate cereal with the children in this classroom and her goal is for them to learn to make smart eating choices.
Anna about breakfast: "I know when I don't eat breakfast I get really
crabby and not very nice, so I think its very important, gives you energy for
the rest of the day, makes you alert, and I think its very important for kids
to be alert so they can learn."

NO CLEAR TENNIS FUTURE-STATEMENT / Anna @ Elementary
school in Miami today
Anna was interviewed by Tennis Week recently on January 12th, 2007. She admitted that she
hasn't watched that much Tennis recently and she thinks Hingis' comeback is great.
She'd love to play WTT again this year and her main focus is her work with
the Boys and Girls Clubs right now.
But when asked what her plans for playing tennis are, Anna responded:
"I’m not sure about playing [other events beside WTT]. It’s really very hard
to say and maybe one day I will. I really don’t know. It’s really not
something that I see happening in the next month...I like not planning things
and being spontaneous."

PERSONAL COMMENT: Anna, please make a final decision - try another Pro Tennis-comeback or announce your official retirement. Is it really true that you STILL don't know what you want??? This year you turn 26 years of age - you cannot wait with that decision until you're 35. Your fans deserve a clear statement.

Anna visits the

Thompson) with award of the 'got breakfast?' foundation.
Anna about her love for children even when she was very young on her own (recent statements): "Ever since I was a little girl I was bubbly and very independent. I used to tie the shoelaces of the younger children; I loved to take care of younger people. I’ve always felt close to children. I love how curious they are.”
Anna about breakfast: "It affects the well-being of kids. Breakfast is the
most important meal. It gives kids the energy they need to make it through
the day."
Anna's preferred breakfast: plain oatmeal, cereal with no sugar, plain yogurt
with fresh fruit and scrambled eggs with vegetables mixed in.
Anna's appearance is set for 9 a.m. at district headquarters in West Palm
Beach! Anna is also expected to distribute breakfast at the school and after
the award-presentation she's supposed to eat with the students and answer
their questions!

2 exhibitions in February 07
Anna will play 2 charity exhibition events in February 2007! First, she'll
participates in the
"Legends of Tennis"-charity at
Chicago's new Sears Center on February 12th and the day after (Feb 13th),
she'll play at Grand Rapids (Michigan)
Van Andel Arena
at the "Ace Of Hearts Tennis Tour". Other participants in both events: Jana
Novotna, Jim Courier and John McEnroe.

Anna honors school principal on Jan 16th
Anna is going to honor
North Palm Beach Elementary School principal (Bill
Thompson) with 'got breakfast?' award.
Quote Anna: "I am a firm believer that the first step to improving well-being is with good nutrition and when millions of students across the country are not taking part in breakfast they are missing out on the opportunity to perform their best at school."
"Principal Bill Thompson's work championing the Classroom Breakfast model
to serve meals to his students is an excellent example of how we can get
meals to children who need it the most and help them be their best."
Anna will present the award during a school-wide assembly where she will
speak to students about the importance of good nutrition and physical
activity.

PERSONAL COMMENT: Finally we'll see (most likely) the first picture of Anna in 2007!
No "Happy new Year"- or "Happy Christmas"-Journal-entry and it seems that
Anna steps out of the public eye more and more and the process gets faster
and faster. On the one hand I am not very surprised, on the other hand I hope
that she'll at least make some kind of a "final official announcement" (retirement,
future plans)!
