Enrique "scared" of Anna? / tomorrow at 12:15 local / gift for you
Honestly I've read much crap since I admire Anna but THIS is really something I simply regard as "ridiculous" and hard-to-believe: Anna reportedly should have been with Enrique Iglesias (my questions: WHERE?, WHEN?) to promote his new Single. A KISS should have been the climax of this promo but he...: "Enrique said he was a little uncomfortable about the zits around her mouth." - Well, ah, what is going on??? You are complaining about Annas face not being perfect??? I admit that she sometimes uses too much makeup but before complaining take a look in the mirror! After all Anna reportedly CRIED in the end...read the whole article!
For all Enrique Iglesias-Fans out there: I don't want to blame him, I don't know if this whole story is true or not but it simply sounds incredible for me. I simply would like to know when this should have happened and where!!!
Auckland-News: Anna will have her first match tomorrow at noon (local time), 12:15! For all Europeans: This is about 11 hours prior to us (or 12,I am not quite sure)! Anyway - when we are celebrating the new year at midnight (our time), Anna is having her first match of 2002... - respect her passion for Tennis! After all (especially such an article) this is what really matters to her and to me!

Anna met Lomu / Autographs tomorrow / MY 2001-SUMMARY
Anna met Rugby player Jonah Lomu yesterday in a press conference where Anna launched her YoC (Young on court) range of sportswear.More here and see a photo of both. If you want to see more go to fotopress.co.nz (go to "latest pics" and on Side 2,3 you find the pics) but there pictures are not for free unfortunately. THIS OUTFIT ANNA WILL BE WEARING AT THE AUSSIE OPEN as well...
Autographs tomorrow: Make sure you are on Center Court on Monday, December 31, because Anna will be there and you get the chance to get a ASB Bank Classic Poster, personally signed by Anna (I wish I could be there)!
Doubles news: The Auckland-Doubles-Draw is out but unfortunately Anna doesn't play Doubles there!
December 29, 2001
Anna meets Cara Black, Doubles sign in tomorrow / O'Brian-Joke
The Draw is out and it was not favourable for Anna unfortunately. She face CARA BLACK in the opening round whom she last beat in straight sets in Montreal 2000 (overall 3 Matches against her, Anna lost no set)! Following opponents might be: Amy Frazier in 2nd and Conchita Martinez in the 3rd Round! Annas Comment towards her 1st Round opponent:
"She's a tough player, always fighting, and runs for every ball. It's going to be a tough match. The first game of the year is always hard. She likes fast surfaces because she has good hands. It will be a difficult match after so much time off."
Look at the Daily Schedule!
That's right Anna! Anyway - GOOD LUCK.
BTW a little "joke" from Conan O'Brian: During his Thursday monologue - "It was reported today that in the year 2001, Russian tennis player Anna Kournikova came in first as the most searched athlete on the internet. Kournikova was very excited about the honor, because it's the first time she's ever won anything." - no comment necessary I think!

Thanx a lot
For all non-Europeans check out this Eurosport-Site to see some Videostreams of the current "Kournikova Special" which is still running on Eurosport, accessible across Europe! Or visit Stefans MPEG Site (always worth a visit) to download Videos of this TV Special!
I will once again say a BIG THANK YOU for your compliments and support in the annak.org - Messageboard! Thanx a lot carling, Christian Mueller...! This really makes me happy and I will definitely keep on working on this Site! One word to "news-sources": Of course the annak.org-Messageboard is THE source for informations but is it "bad" to look for news there and post it here? I have to look for news somewhere...
Auckland-News: Look at the recently updated reports at the left and you will know that Anna is practising seriously to get in shape for her first match on January 1, 2002! Today she will also be training once again and on Saturday she will be taking part in the draw-making and a Pro Am Tennis Event.

Annas 1st Auckland-Training / Thanx for great support
I know it already took place 2 days ago - Anna was training in Auckland straight after her arrival! I was mentioning the link already but the link to her 1st Training didn't work. Thanx to OCT_1 (kournikova.com - Messageboard - Moderator) I used the Link "LAN" instead of "Modem" and? - It worked! You see Anna training with 2 guys and it is a really really positive report about Anna. Great! Annas was asked if she thinks she will be back in the Top10 and she just said "OF COURSE" - great Anna. Her confidence and passion for tennis is what i always will love! BUT: She also said that her foot is okay right now - this is generally good news but I think that after this "real big injury" (Anna-quote, Eurosport-Special) you always have to frightened that something like that might happen again. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY ANNA. Better take 1,2 weeks of instead of another 8-month-injury or even worse!
Auckland-curiosity: In one of the latest report I found talks about Annas arrival in Auckland and the public reportedly didn't recognise her?!?!? Hard to believe!
Great support: Generally there are very few people who write a supportive email or an entry into the Guestbook (unfortunately) but today I read this in the kournikova.com - Messageboard under the topic "Anna website":
"The BEST Anna Web Site....
Annaforever.de
is the best Anna K. web site on the internet bar
none. It is a German site (also in English) owned by
a man named Anton, and this guy has got to be the
biggest Anna fan in the world.
Annaforever.de is updated EVERY DAY and I mean EVERY
DAY. I challenge anybody to find better Anna site.
Don't believe me? Check out Annaforever.de right now
and you can see 96 vidcaps from the "Who's That
Girl" special on Eurosport, as well as a link
to her arrival in Auckland.
Nobody does it better. See for yourself."
Thanx a lot carling! I appreciate it very very much and of course I will keep working on so that annaforever.de stays what it is!
PS: Take a look at where Anna is training currently in Auckland, New Zealand:

Anna in Auckland-Streams
I was lucky by searching the Web for more Auckland-Articles about Annas Arrival yesterday - I found this: Realvideos of Anna in Auckland! You see and hear her joking with reporters while sitting in McDonald's, Alla says something, Anna is asked what she knows about New Zealand and the atmosphere of the talk is very very nice! The newest Stream-Video is about her first training in Auckland - don't miss it!

Anna in Auckland already / german Ice-skater's opinion
As Anna mentioned in recent Interviews she spents Christmas with her Mom in Auckland. She arrived this morning and must have been hungry - she went straight to McDonald's! Now she will get used to the different climate down there and will start practising. More here
Take a look at Anna in McDonalds in the Tour Gallery!
In Auckland Anna will be playing her first match on January 1, 2000!
Do not miss today's Eurosport-Shows - Who's that Girl? twice!
By the way - how do you like the Flash-Intro! Let me know by filling out the form below or email me!
German Ice-skater's opinion: Today in BILD Online (bild.de) I read an Interview with german Ice-skater Anni Friesinger and this was the outcome (translated):
BamS: Is there the "perfect body"?
Anni:...
BamS: Anna Kournikova?
Anni: "She has something but I think Steffi Graf is prettier. More beautiful figure and face."

Anna-Eurosport-Special... & Detroit-Pics
Today I was watching the "Who's that Girl? - Kournikova Special" on Eurosport - total duration: 26 minutes including 2 mini-breaks. It was running from 19:27 - 19:53 CET!
DETAILS:
The Interview scenes took place at Zurich, Anna was
wearing the red shirt from the Zurich-Omega-Show and
unfortunately she was wearing lots of make-up (I
don't like that). She talked about that 8 months
without Tennis ("just when sitting in a chair")
was difficult because it was something Anna hasn't
experienced since she was 5 years old. It was a
"big injury" and they also showed the
twisted ankle-scene from Berlin 2000 (horrible)!
Furthermore Anna talked about the beginning of her
tennis career in the Bollettieri camp, she is happy
that her parents are with her all the time. Also
other players and representatives of Omega and the
WTA Tour have their words on Anna, Pam Shriver
describes her as "unique"! You can see
lots of MakingOf-Shots from the
Calendar02-Photoshooting and in one scene you really
see Annas injury in her left foot as she can hardly
walk into the water. The media pressure on Anna is
another topic as well as some hints from several
people how Anna could improve her "low-margin"-style
of game etc.! My most lovely shots are the following
scenes: Sergej (her dad) carries Anna on her arms at
the Calendar02-Shooting / Anna is surrounded by
journalists at an airport (I assume Buenos Aires
2000) and she says "I am just at the
Airport" - lovely, lovely, lovely! In the end
Anna is asked what is her 1st big memory in Tennis?
US OPEN 96 - there I also saw her for the first
time...!I finish my little report-summary with the
report-finishing words:
"The World of Tennis wishes Anna
Kournikova health and fitness for 2002"!
THIS,I assume, is really the most important thing (stay healthy) for Annas further career and Anna really seemed to me that she is now more aware of that than she ever was!
Detroit-Pics: Have a look at some unique Fan pics from Detroit from Dec 15, 2001! I will try to get them for my website. If the link doesn't work copy the URL to your browser's address bar - it will work.

SportBILD-"Phantom" - ridiculous / complete Eurosport-Interview - Schedule
Read the latest report of Anna in the german SPORTBILD-magazine - it, once again, portrays Anna as a unmotivated, injury-prone million dollar-girl. They are mixing up unrelated facts (Berlei-Sports-Bra-Ads in 2000 and her Wimbledon-Absence 2001,...) and generate the impression that Anna will never become a serious player.

Eurosport brings the WTA to us / Site-News / Screw...
As in recent years (since it increased in 1999) Eurosport will bring us nearly every WTA Tournament on our screens. Here are the Tournaments Eurosport will broadcast throughout Europe (Astra Satellite) - Sydney (Jan 9-13), Aus Open (Jan 14-27) LIVE, Tokyo (Feb 1-3), Scottsdale (Mar 3, Final) LIVE, Indian Wells (Mar 11-16) LIVE, Ericcson Open (Mar 24-30) LIVE, Amelia Island (Apr 12-14) LIVE, Family Circle Cup (Apr 18-21) LIVE, Hamburg (Apr 30 - May 5), German Open (May 7-12), Italian Open (May 13-19) LIVE, French Open (May 27 - June 9) LIVE, Edgbaston Tbc Tbc Tbc, Eastbourne (June 19-22) LIVE, Wimbledon Highlights (June 24 - July 7), Stanford (July 29, Final), San Diego (Aug 4-5), Los Angeles (Aug 12, Final), Canadian Open (Aug 12-18) LIVE, New Haven (Aug 22-24) LIVE, US Open (Aug 26 - Sep 8) LIVE, Tokyo (Princess Cup / Sep 22-23), Leipzig (Sep 24-29) LIVE, Moscow (Oct 1-6) LIVE, Zurich (Oct 15-20) LIVE, Linz (Oct 22-27) LIVE, Munich (Oct 29 - Nov 3) LIVE!!!
Wonderful coverage I think. Just in February no Paris Indoors unfortunately because Winter Olympics but for the first time Wimbledon Highlights at least. Who knows? 2001 was the first year with US OPEN-Coverage. Perhaps in 2003 Wimbledon will also be LIVE on Eurosport!
Site-News: Just minor changes - the News will now be separated by months and not in 3-months periods. This should help for a quicker view! I also delete all Previous Updates and just the Updates from the last 3 months will be available. There is no big sense to see what I uploaded to this Site in December 2000 for example, right?
Screw: I read in this report yesterday that this TITANIUM SCREW is still in Annas left foot...! Well, it is scary for me to think about how this might feel. I am no doctor but it is hard to believe for me that Anna doesn't feel this screw at all when she really puts much pressure on her foot during a touch match! To sum up all this - it just shows me how much Anna loves Tennis, she does everything to play and I will always admire her therefore. She focusses just on Tennis and that is what is at least as wonderful for me than her Beautiness.
December 16, 2001
Anna beats Amanda as well / Berlin 02-Confirmation
Great News once again! Yesterday evening in Detroit/Auburn Hills Anna scored another impressive win against Amanda Coetzer whom she has already beaten in 2 of 3 exhibition matches back in November in South Africa. Reportedly Anna played very very good but unfortunately I couldn't find out further details so far. Anyway - Anna won her last Exhibition match for 2001 against Amanda 7:6,6:4 and afterwards she teamed up with Luke Jensen for a Mixed Doubles match against Murphy Jensen and Amanda. Anna and Luke lost 6:7 but it was the Singles match what definitely was important for Anna!
Berlin02: Anna will be in german's capital in the beginning of May 2002 for the German Open! She has reportedly contacted the organisers to get a Wildcard ("Gold Exempt"-Status)! This is wonderful wonderful news for me, hopefully I am able to get to Berlin at this time!
Now also her "Exhibition-season" is over but the 2002 season already starts in 15 days! I will be writing my "2001 Diary" and as soon as I am ready I will publish it!
GO ANNA IN 2002! I will continue to follow your career and hopefully I see you live again in Berlin in May 2002!
December 15, 2001
ANNA BEATS JENNIFER
Great News!ANNA BEATS JENNIFER! That is great news and certainly will give Anna lots of confidence!
In
the 1st set Anna was already up 4-0, broke Jennifer
twice but then she dropped 3 games before finally
winning the set 6-4!
In the second set both hold their serves until Anna
broke Jennifer and was able to win the final 3 games
to win the match! Anna made few unforced errors, NO
Doublefault which is really good (remember
Filderstadt vs Kremer...) and served a few aces as
well.
Reportedly Anna was looking at her watch during every changeover as if she wanted to get out as soon as possible. Possible reason: She plays in Detroit today, flight and so on!
December 14, 2001
Anna at Ice Palace tonight / Feedback-Form added

Anna's life is all about Tennis
I found 2 Reports with Interview-Cuts from the Teleconference from Monday concerning Annas Exhibition in Detroit on Saturday! As expected - in the 12 minutes (the Audio-File at palacenet.com is just 5 minutes long...) the Interview took many questions were not related to Tennis. They wanted to know if she and Sergej are married etc. - no new questions and as always Anna refuses to answer those questions. I give it up to keep on saying that Anna deserves PRIVACY! They are just journalists who want to get a great headlines, they want to hear private things from Anna because this stuff sells more copies of their magazines - that's (unfortunately) the way of world.
December 12, 2001
Anna in Auckland for X-Mas / Tokio 02 with Anna
Go ahead and listen to an Audio Interview with Anna from December 10, 2001 (reportedly during her lunch break) - a very remarkable statement is that Anna will celebrate Christmas already in New Zealand...! Hopefully she gets used to everything there real quick but her early departure certainly will help.
It was an interview for the Exhibition event on Saturday in Auburn Hills where she will play against Amanda Coetzer and later there will be another mixed doubles with the Jenson Brothers (remember Denver on November 29)! The whole event on Saturday will start at 7:30 p.m.! More Infos

Now you can enjoy the Anna Kournikova Forever Site in a 3rd Frameset - use the buttons
Poll: I will soon add a new Poll to the Site but for the time being please vote on the current question "What is your advise for Anna in 2002?" and be honest!
Tennis News: Currently there aren't any Tennis News. We just have to wait 3 more days until Anna plays Tampa on Friday. On Saturday Anna plays her last exhibition in 2001 in Detroit/Michigan and I hope Anna will win. Let's hope that these Exhibitions are a good preparation for Anna to re-establish her good shape from early 2001. We will see in Auckland, beginning on December 31, 2001!

Stupids thoughts from me / reworked frontpage design
I have to apologise for yesterday's "news" - the Playboy-stuff! It was ridiculous from me to even think about that it MIGHT become a possibility that Anna could consider to pose nude one day. I don't know how I could see any truth in this news!
Today I read a reply from OCT_1 (one of the moderators of Anna's official messageboard at kournikova.com) and after reading these few lines it was so absolutely clear to me! For sure Anna doesn't even know anything about these offers, her father said months ago that those questions aren't worth a comment because the answer is more than clear.
And I want to refer to one guy who also posted at this thread on the board - he attached a link to an interview with a "porn" magazine called GENESIS from 2000...! I have found this interview in May 2000 already on worldofanna.com (doesn't exist anymore) and was more than upset and after thinking about it for quite a while the only conclusion can just be that this Interview is a fake. That's what I think right now!
PS: In the future I won't bring up so ridiculous news anymore. Anna is a very talented tennisplayer. That's all (but that's more than enough)!
Frontpage design: Do you like the slightly renewed frontpage design??! First I wanted to wait until January 1, 2002 to replace it but now I am curious how you think about it.Let me know!

Bid on a giant FHM-Poster / TV Special at X-Mas
Now you can bid on a giant Coverpic from Anna - as you see on the pics below it is the September 2001-Issue and Anna signed this giant cover in New York while promoting the FHM-Issues there on September ,2001!
December 7, 2001
Tampa is coming up...
In exactly 1 week Anna is going to play in Tampa, Florida another exhibition, this time against Jennifer Capriati who won 2 Grand Slam-Titles this year!!! In my opinion this is going to be a very interesting match, hopefully Anna will be playing better than against Monica in Denver! Perhaps you are planning to travel to this Exhibition - then take part in an ongoing related topic at wtaworld.com!
December 6, 2001
Jon Wertheim about Anna 2002
Today I saw Jon Wertheim's prediction for 2002 at cnnsi.com.This is what he said about Anna:
"From the sublime to the ridiculous: Monica Seles waxed Anna Kournikova in an exhibition last week in Denver. Luke Jensen, also on hand to make some nice cake, blamed Kournikova's spotty play on the altitude. Kournikova couldn't be reached for comment as she blew off the media afterward."
and
"Wins first career title
Men:
Mikhail Youzhny
Women: Elena Dementieva
2001 picks: Guillermo Coria and Anna Kournikova
"
Well,I personally just hope that Anna stays healthy THROUGHOUT 2002 and that she can manages to win her first Singles Title. An Improvement in Singles Ranking will come automatically as long as she just stays healthy and is able to play. She has unlimited Wildcards next year due to "Gold Exempt"-Status and this is a good basis for Anna because she can start at any tournament (no matter what the Ranking-Cut Off is)! To summarize everything: Anna, please stay healthy and do what you love to do - play Tennis and hopefully I can see you LIVE several times next year when you are playing in Germany.

Anna on the BILD-Cover
It is a little while ago but today again Anna is on the cover of one of Europe`s biggest daily newspaper - the german BILD! She is in the bottom half of the cover with a rare picture of her 2002 Calendar! The BILD-typical text: "Nimm mich mit, süße Reiterin" (Take me with you, sweet horsegirl)! In the Sports section of this newspaper an expression which is remarkable out of my point of view:"Sehnsuchts-Kalender für Kournikova-Liebhaber"...! 10 Kalender kann man bei bild.de gewinnen!

annaforver.de: One of the most time-taking actions is over - Annaforever.de has its Tour Gallery once again. I was deleting all images with obvious Copyrights on it but I think there are still more than enough images to view! The VIDCAPS are also available and take a look into pictures/specials where you will find Roland garros 2001, Acapulco 2001 - galleries which were former used in the Tour Gallery but honestly - Anna wasn`t neither in Paris nor in Acapulco this year to play tennis...! It is not the case that she didn't want to - she just wasn't able to do so!
