SportBILD blames Anna for still being injured
SportBILD comes up with an article which blames Annas "High Heel"-Addiction for her injury and the not healing foot. For me the right pic is the most unbelievable thing: Another paparazzi-shot of Anna, for sure from the jetski-time with Sergej a few weeks ago! Of course I don`t show this pic - it is a paparazzi-shot, that`s all I have to say about it!
BUT: Anna wears this special shoe even on this picture and after reading the article you might get the impression that Anna doesn`t care much about getting a healthy foot again - this picture WITH this special shoe proofs the whole article wrong at all. Summarized - another BILD-article with wrong infos (the acapulco-calender2002-shooting was in February/March but NOT in May,...) and the typical "blame"-style that only Anna is guilty for still being injured. Hey guys - have you ever thought about that Anna REALLY loves Tennis and not only parties, promotional events etc.??? I think they don`t have ever thought about that!

Davenport asked about Anna plus Martinas Doubles Choice
Lindsay Davenport said some words about Anna Kournikova when asked in the press conference yesterday - here is the part:

"Q. Apropos with Kournikova, has her impact on the sport been a good impact, even though she hasn't won, to elevate her name in that regard?
LINDSAY DAVENPORT: It's been a phenomenal impact. I don't think there's too many negative impacts that she has brought herself. I mean, she works extremely hard. She has turned into a great player. Obviously, what a disappointing year being out eight months. Brought so many more fans in. She's on the covers of fashion magazines and bringing just all sorts of different people to watch tennis.
I think the media is tough on her for not winning a tournament yet. I don't read all her quotes, but she never came out and said, "I'm going to be the best player. I'm going to do this." I mean, she just tries her best. She hasn't won a tournament. People just get on her case for that.
But she's a player. There's no doubt that she can play.

Q. If injuries prevent her from ever wining in a big way or at all, what kind of loss is that for the tour?
LINDSAY DAVENPORT: Well, I mean, everyone is hoping that she comes back and plays. I've heard that her injury obviously is extremely serious. She's been out most of the year. So I think everyone right now is just crossing their fingers that she comes back healthy when that time is right.
As far as what happens if she never wins a major, never win as tournament, I don't really know. At this point everyone is kind of just hoping she comes back in time for next year.

The most important sentences for me:" I've heard that her injury obviously is extremely serious" - more than bad. When already the players only receive that bad news...! "At this point everyone is kind of just hoping she comes back in time for next year" - All players know that Anna is a magnet for the audience and (as you see) they are asked for her even in press conferences! Plus: No one among the players seems to think that Anna might return again in 2001...!

News from Hingis` Doubles Choice: She said in her pressconference that she was looking for a Doubles Partner after Anna called her last monday saying that she can't play! That means that both wanted to play Doubles in Flushing Meadows - will the bad news never end?????

Conclusion from me: All these infos are so sad that it gets more and more unbearable. All day I am hoping that this injury won`t end Annas career. No, I am not a pessimistic person but at the moment there are only bad news! I remain hoping for Annas career and her return - it doesn`t matter WHEN she gives her comeback - the most important thing is that she comes back and isn`t force to finish her career. If this worst-case scenario comes true, I don`t know what I`ll do without Anna and I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks that way!

No more Anna in 2001??? & dancing in Tonic
After reading through many articles and posts in various messageboards I have to admit that it would be probably the best if Anna really takes the rest of the year off! WHY?? - First of all Dr. Hörterer from Bad Wiessee who says that it will require at least additional three months until Anna can play painfree. Secondly there were already 2 injury-relapses: Wimbledon and after her much-too-early San Diego-Comeback! My explanation why Anna did try the comeback: She just still loves Tennis, that`s all I think. Perhaps she thought she will manage the pressure and her foot will heal but the opposite became reality. So for now I just hope that Anna doesn`t start another early comeback which might lead to another injury-relapse! Take time to get 100% healthy again Anna! I live in Germany and therefore I hoped for Filderstadt, Leipzig and Munich but all this doesn`t count when you play injured. That`s not worth it! So get healthy and don't try another one-tournament-comeback!

Offcourt News: According to an article published on freep.com Anna and Sergei attended a club on friday night called "Tonic". Furthermore the report tells that Anna wore a big ring, danced with Sergej and had fun. Well, even with a stress fracture you can dance and everything Anna makes happy (even if it`s with Sergej) must be regarded as good because it speeds up the healing process.

Back but only bad news
Oh no! I know that these news aren`t fresh but Anna withdrew from the US OPEN and her doctor advised her to take another 3 months off which would mean that the 2001 season is OVER for Anna! These news arrived me during my holidays but I wasn`t able to post them on the Site earlier. More news in a few hours!

From now the good old actuality is back!

I am on vacation until the US Open
Until the US Open I`ll be on vacation so there won`t be Updates until then! Sorry for any unanswered email and the temporarily unactuality! I fear that I come back and the first thing I`ll hear is that Anna had to withdraw from the last Grand Slam of the Year. I hope and pray each second that this doesn`t happen and I know that Anna wants nothing more than getting fit and healthy again!

Remember the Australian Open 1999-Comment from her after her 3rd Round-Victory against Andrea Glass - "I am not sore, nothing is really hurting or anything" - Hearing something like that again from her - THIS is my dream!

Keep on supporting Anna and come back to this Site Sunday before the US Open!

No US OPEN-"Warmup" for Anna...
Once again I prayed for good news and received bad news: Anna won`t play in New Haven in the next week, this means that her only Singles match between Feb 9, 2001 and a possible 1st US Open-Match on Aug 27 or 28, 2001 was her 3-set-loss in San Diego vs. Nicole Pratt on July 31, 2001!!!! Personally I think chances that Anna will compete at the US OPEN are 50/50!! I don`t want to sound pessimistic but you just have to look at her 2001 season - INJURY,INJURY,INJURY! I often said that this is not fair but the tennis god doesn`t seem to like Anna very much! I would just like to know WHAT kind of injury it is right now, if it is this "ligament injury" which was mentioned in the latest reports or if it is something else.

But whatever it is - I hope and pray that one day Anna will be able to come back and STAY INJURY-FREE. Her return in San Diego was possibly a little bit to early after 2 weeks of training with Martina Hingis but on the other hand I don't know. Anna loves playing tennis - so it's naturally that she wants to come back as soon as possible!

Well, the source for this New Haven-Withdrawal: I watched the Toronto-1st Round-match between Dokic and Petrova and Karsten Linke (Eurosport-Commentator) mentioned Annas Withdrawal.

ANNA TO RETIRE???
"An athlete needs to spend all their time keeping in shape. Anna, instead of training, wasted her time on a bunch of high-paid nonsense. And her muscles, bones, and ligaments began to suffer from the stresses of tennis.
First the stress fracture, and now the ligament injury. If Anna hadn't gotten into these endorsement escapades in the past several years, we might not be seeing a body that's broken down in spite of its young age," said Greg Laurkis (American doctor)!

Oh no - the latest report ("Kournikova to leave tennis") talks about this reportedly new injury which forced Anna to skip Los Angeles and Toronto after just returned to the Tour! Regarding reactions in messageboards towards this article no one seems to believe it and in fact, this report sucks! I just don`t want to think about ANNA RETIRING...if this happens in the near future.............!Oh no!

I don`t know if her ligaments are injured or if her stress fracture reoccurd, all I know is that Anna withdrew from Toronto and that I pray and hope that she will be healthy again and fully fit. That`s unfortunately all I can do!

anna4ever-Future,new Poll & ANNA+SERGEI
Finally the result of the "What do you like most on anna4ever.de?"-Poll:

whatbestonanna4ever-POLL.jpg (25107 Byte)

1.) Tour Gallery 17 / 84 20%
2.) Actuality 14 / 84 16%
3.) magazine-scans 13 / 84 15%

Well, this result reflects what I expected and really encourages me to keep on working the way I`ve been working the past months! The ACTUALITY is THE key thing for every website and I am pleased that you also like my wallpapers very much (Rank 4)! Apologies for the AUDIO CENTER and its inconvenience but it requires lots and lots of webspace and as soon as I find some I will relaunch it completely! The already deleted AKFS FORUM was at no time sth. you wanted and I think that the future of anna4ever.de will be what the young past was - picture-based! That means: TOUR GALLERY in first place, Photos, Pictures, Wallpapers, Vidcaps etc.! Of course the video section will also get updates from time to time!

So for now - THANX for your votes and don`t miss the latest poll right below!

THESE Pictures were published in todays SUN (my No.1-HATE-Magazine):

Well, what should I say??? I am disappointed because HE is kissing my dreamgirl and I will never be able to do that - marriage rumors come to my mind.... this was in Miami not long ago...he was also in San Diego (of course)!BUT: I still believe Anna that she is not married but to be honest: WOULD IT MAKE THAT BIG DIFFERENCE AT ALL????

Anna,what is going on??? Site-news
I really have to say that I am feeling more than uncomfortable. First there was this so called "precautionary measure" - LOS ANGELES - Withdrawal, then Anna pulled out of Toronto but you can read in her statement that she really is disappointed as an athlete can be! I would really give anything to know what is REALLY going on with her! Reinjury?? Just pain?? New injury?? - the most likely case to my mind is that her foot injury reoccured! Perhaps she pulled out of Toronto to be able to rest her foot for additional 2 weeks to be 100% able to play the US Open! I am totally convinced that Anna will do anything to play there - it would be just her second Grand Slam this year!!!! Well, time will tell but this time of speculations etc. is really sad!

Today I heard the CNN-Interview-Cut after her first Doubles Match in San Diego, you can hear Anna saying "obviously I am trying to come back...that means I am feeling good" => HERE IT and pay attention to the way she says the second part....TOTALLY HAPPY!!! Anna really loves tennis, this is what you can here there! So, with this in mind, I think no one of us fans is as frustrated with this injury setback as Anna herself!

Site-News: Sorry, but the Wallpapers weren`t available for several days but they are working again now. If you have some you want to share...MAIL ME!

Sorry,I closed down the AKFS FORUM - 2 entries in almost 2 months, I know there are better messageboards out there. Both entries were also rude and offensive. But stay in touch and subscribe to the unique Anna Kournikova Forever Site Mailinglist!

Anna also misses the AT&T Rogers Cup in Toronto
Would it be the first withdrawal of the year, I certainly would be a little bit more frustrated and surprised, especially after the Los Angeles-withdrawal straight after the doubles final loss on Sunday in San Diego.

Anna WON`T be able to compete in Toronto, she will, once again, loose some important points for the ranking and will slip down more places,OUT of the Top 20...!

Anna had to say:"I am extremely disappointed that I will be missing out on the inaugural Rogers AT&T Cup. Toronto is one of the favorite stops on the tour for the players and I am sorry to be missing it."

Anna, for sure you are as much frustrated as I am but beginning with next week everything could have been sooooo good - I am on vacation and Eurosport covers Toronto LIVE from the first day...! It would have been soooo wonderful to see you again playing but now this won`t happen.

Anyway: Get well soon Anna. I pray that you finally get over this injury and can come back stronger than ever and 100% healthy!

BTW: Thanx Steph for the email - I will correct the broken links in the Wimbledon 2000 Various Page as soon as possible.

Anna on UK 9/01-FHM-Issue
Anna is on the cover of the UK 9/01-Issue of the FHM magazine - another incredible picture from the Calender 2002!! The article is reportedly the same like in the Australian Issue of FHM!

Do you want to see Anna in action at her one and only time so far in Los Angeles??

Anna won´t play the estyle.com Classic / Ranking News / Site-News
Well, first of all Anna and Martina LOST the Acura Classic Doubles Final against Cara Black and Elena Likhovtseva (2nd seeded pair) 4-6,6-1,4-6 in 1h43min! This means that both hold a record of 47-3 which is still incredible good! Remember: This was just Anna`s and Martina`s 12th Doubles Tournament since the Aussie Open 1999 and their last defeat was in the Kremlin Cup Final back in October 2000!

Secondly there is bitter and really really sad news for all of us - ANNA WITHDREW FROM L.A.!!Why??? In an official press release it was called a "precautionary measure", her foot was sore after the Doubles Final which really makes me more than sad! This is just so unfair - almost 6 months sidelined, 1 Comeback-Tournament and now this...! I cannot get rid of the frustrating feeling that I have to hope for Annas health at every match right now! She is scheduled for Toronto in 1 week! Perhaps this was a little bit too much Anna wanted after such a long layoff period: 3 straight tournaments in the hot summer, Doubles and Singles!

According to a sport1.de-Article Dr.Hoerterer (the doctor from Bad Wiessee, Rehab clinic) said:"Anna needs time." It seems that he is right.

Hope with me that Anna will be ready for the very important US Open. Isn`t anybody able to take away the pain from Annas left foot??

Do you want to see Anna in action at her one and only time so far in Los Angeles??

Ranking News: Anna lost in the 2nd round vs. Nicole Pratt - 5 rankings down and with Anna ranked now 20th in the world she has her worst ranking since Spring 1998!!! Get well sooooooooooon Anna!

Site-News: To be honest - By working on this website it is a little bit "easier" to handle this additional week without Anna playing. It feels good to do this "work" - and to deliver a website I always searched for!

Magazine News - Anna is on the cover of the UK-September Issue of FHM - with similar pics like in the Australian 9/2001-Issue! Look here!

Anna and Martina advance
Great!Who can be as good as the "Spice Girls"?!Capriati and Sanchez-Vicario weren't able to end the impressive winning series of Anna and Martina - 6:2,5:7,6:2 for my Doubles Dream Team!

More details to come as well as new San Diego 01-pics!

Anna and Martina advance
Excellent news: Anna and Martina beat Fusai/Grande in the doubles quarterfinal of the Acura Classic yesterday afternoon 6:3,7:6! Performing on court 11 Anna and Martina took a lead of 4-1 in the first set to finally win it. The second set was much closer - 5:5 - but then Anna and Martina could break Fusai/Grande! But as Anna served for the match Fusai/Grande were able to rebreak and forced a tiebreak. But this one was won by the "Spice Girls" easily with 7 straight points.

Now Anna and Martina meet the winner of Capriati/Sanchez-Vicario and Garbin/Husarova in the doubles semifinal. Both, Anna and Martina, increase their doubles team record to an awesome 46-2! The only 2 defeats occured back in Roland Garros 99-Final and the Moscow 00-Final!

More stunning pics of Anna in white to come...

Doubles, ANNA COMMENTS MARRIAGE RUMOR and LEIPZIG - Confirmation
Anna plays doubles later today with Martina Hingis. Both face Alexandra Fusai and Rita Grande and in my opinion they will win! It is not clear WHEN this match will start today, it was not scheduled when I looked - stay in touch here!

Ending the marriage rumor made up by SUN last monday - this is what ANNA PERSONALLY said on her official website:

'I Am Not Married'

While I don't typically comment on my personal life, let me confirm once again that I am not married. I can't be any clearer on this subject and I hope the rumors will stop.
Thank you,

Anna K.

Guys - RESPECT ANNAS PRIVACY - that is all I wish for the future! If she marries one day, Anna will let us know for sure!

PS: All fans in germany can be happy: ANNA CONFIRMED TO PLAY IN LEIPZIG!!! According to a report on sparkassencup.com she made a phone call from San Diego to confirm her participation! Wonderful news, thanx Anna!

Details of Singles Match
More details are available right now for Annas first Singles match after her long injury but unfortunately also for her first loss: The whole match took 2h03min! The first set took 1h and Anna played a nearly perfect tiebreaker but Anna lost her rhythm in the second set.

After the frustrating loss Anna said: "Nicole is a player that always fights to the end. I just had a little difficulty finishing it off. She's a tough player to play first match after five months. She makes you play. She does not give you a single free point, so I had to really work. I gave it my all. It was hard finishing points because the balls kept coming back."

When asked how her foot felt, she responded, "I had no real pain, but it's really sore. When I was on the court, I really didn't think about it. I was just really happy to be out there. It's a great feeling to be back on the court and to be moving again."

Well, at least Anna is still in the Doubles competition and hopefully she gets back to that great form she was in before she suffered the stress fracture.

Pictures of lovely Anna in a RED dress will follow later today...

One remarkable statement of Anna for me after her Singles Loss:
"I don't need to justify every single rumour from the tabloids," said the 20-year-old Russian starlet. If I did, I wouldn't have any time to concentrate on my tennis and that's what you guys say I need to concentrate on. I've always been doing that but I'm trying to prove it you"

Goddammed:Anna lost
Sad news for us:Anna didn't win her first competitive Singles match after almost 6 months out of action - 7:6,1:6,3:6 the tight result vs. Nicole Pratt! That`s  really frustratring because this means that Anna will fall down in the rankings till position 19 to 21 depending on the performances of the other players. More infos soon - let's hope that at least Annas Doubles performances stays good!
