Anna in Valencia (Spain) on April 27th
According to lasprovincias.es, Anna will be in Valencia (Spain) on April 27th - why? She and Isabel Preysler (Enrique's mum) will watch a performance by ballet dancer Igor Yerba and will go to a cocktail party afterwards. Reportedly, Enrique won't be there. Read more (spanish)

Anna @ Tampa exhibition / Gwinnett Classic in May
Anna participated in the 3rd annual Mercedes-Benz Classic tennis event which took place in the St.Pete Times Forum in Tampa (FL, USA) on Wednesday, April 5th! After a Men's Singles match (Jim Courier vs John McEnroe), Anna and Chris Evert joined both men for a Mixed Doubles match. Anna teamed up with John McEnroe and both won the one-set match vs Chris Evert/Jim Courier 6-3. All players wore microphones during the Mixed Doubles. Anna about Jim Courier and playing at this event: "Jim's a great person. I'm looking forward to playing in front of my fans again. There's absolutely no pressure. Also, kids have always been a passion of mine... something just happens to me when I am around kids."

PERSONAL COMMENT: Having watched the pictures from April 5th, I just have to say: ANNA, PLEASE GAIN SOME WEIGHT! She's so skinny these days! Does she relly think that's making her more attractive??? The new outfit is great but Anna's simply too thin these days :-(

A great new interview is available: Anna was recently (i guess just a few days ago) interviewed by St.Petersburg Times staff writer Keith Neibuhr (prior to the 3rd annual Mercedes-Benz Classic in Tampa on April 5th). Here some parts of it:
What she misses most about being on tour:
>> "it's a feeling you can't really replace with
anything else..."
What other things she's doing these days?
>> "...work with the Boys & Girls Club of
America...that's one of my main passions right now..."
Is she still following the sport?:
>> "I watch all the majors and whatever else they're
showing on TV. And I follow the results on the
Internet, mainly to follow my friends."
Does she give advice to Myskina?:
>> "When we meet and talk, it's usually just about
where we are and how we're doing...and I tell her, 'Don't
think if you lose it's the end of the world, there's
always next Monday.' "
Describing her Internet usage:
>> "I really just read the news and interact with
fans on my Web site (kournikova.com). I hang out
there a lot."

PERSONAL COMMENT: Some interesting answers (Internet usage etc.) but unfortunately once again the same Comebak-statement. Anna has to decide sooner or later if she wants to attempt another comeback or not - soon she turns 25 and she cannot wait until she's 30. One day, we'll get THE answer.

Monitoring asked 1,600 respondents with a view to
find out the most popular athlete in today’s Russia.
Here's the result of the nationwide vote:
1) Alina Kabaeva (22%, rhythmic gymnastic)
2) Irina Slutskaya (20%, figure skater)
3) Maria Sharapova (15%)
4) Anna Kournikova (12%)
Interesting: The Muscovites voted quite
differently:
1) Irina Slutskaya (35%)
2) Yulia Chepalova (12%, skier)
3) Albina Akhatova (10%)
All these 3 athletes were very successful of the
last Olympic Winter Games in Torino.
